Amazon experiences a major outage as tens of thousands report problems.
Amazon is currently facing a widespread outage affecting users across the United States, with thousands reporting issues accessing the site and completing purchases.
Around 11:00 AM PST on March 5, reports of Amazon problems began to increase rapidly. According to Downdetector, over 21,000 reports were submitted in a short time, showing a large-scale disruption of the company’s online services. Reports keep rising each minute as more users encounter issues.
Many users report problems such as checkout failures, login errors, product pages not loading properly, and prices not displaying. Some customers also report being unable to complete purchases or access their carts on both the Amazon website and mobile apps.
Early reports suggest the outage mainly affects users in the United States, but it’s still unclear if customers in other regions are experiencing similar issues. So far, the outage hasn't been confirmed as a global disruption.
Amazon has not publicly confirmed the exact cause of the outage. It’s also unclear whether the problem is limited to Amazon’s retail platform or affects other connected services.
This story is ongoing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
